Daisy Nixon Smith - Editor, Compliance Officer, Co-Founder

Daisy Nixon Smith is a third-year undergraduate student studying BSc (Hons) Geography at the University of Winchester. Throughout her degree, she has developed a strong interest in a wide range of complex global issues, including aeolian geomorphology, geopolitics, and the environmental impacts associated with urban development. She is particularly interested in understanding the relationship between human activity and physical environments, and how geographical research can contribute to addressing modern environmental issues.

For Westgate Collective, Daisy serves as an editor, ensuring that articles are submitted in accordance with the publication's referencing guidelines. Outside of her studies, Daisy enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures firsthand, believing that these experiences provide an insight into the diverse social, environmental and cultural landscapes studied within geography.

For the past two summers, she has worked as a camp counsellor in the United States, reinforcing her broader geographical perspective. In her future career, Daisy hopes to pursue a career that combines her passion for travel with her academic interests, enabling her to explore diverse geographical landscapes while contributing to research that addresses contemporary environmental challenges.
