We are looking for articles that are academically robust while also being entertaining and accessible to general readers. The ideal word count should be between 500 and 1500 for submissions.
The publication of submissions will be based on current openings around theme, subject and coverage. However, we are always open to new submissions and ideas and encourage you to get in touch no matter what state your idea is in; we can help you get it publication ready even if we need to hold onto it for a future publication date.
The submissions can be about anything so long as they fall under the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty. They need to be scientifically rigorous or academic in nature. Any other submissions that don’t fall into these requirements can be submitted in the creative centre.
Publishing and opening dates will be updated monthly, and if submissions are sent to us later, it will be considered for the next opening.
-
Following the submission, a member of the editorial team will be in contact to let you know if they wish to take the project forward. If they do, you will then work together to bring the article to fruition. There may be a waiting period until then, replies may come within a week or as soon as editors are available.

Submission is first.
After submission, we aim to get in touch with the author in 2-3 business days to make them aware we have received their submission and we are going to discuss it at the next editorial board meeting.
If an interview or pitch is needed then you will be informed as soon as possible and a date will be arranged.
After this, an editor will be assigned and then you can start working.
The first draft must be submitted no later than 3 weeks before your projected publication date.
The editor will then go over your work(s) assessing it for rigour and for academic integrity.
Any changes will be communicated to you, but these changes will not affect the overall work done too much.
Once this is done, the editor will submit it for peer-review.
Then the work(s) will go through the peer-review process which takes approximately another week.
Once this process is complete, the works are submitted to the Editor-in-Chief for a final check before your publishing date.
Submission → Editing Process (3 weeks prior to publish) → Peer-review Process (2 weeks prior to publish) → Editor-in-Chief checks (1 week prior to publish) → Publishing.
